Mother's Day Surprise
I'm hungry. Who can tell me where my food is?
Every spring we can find many baby animals, but you must know the Wildlife Act of Canada.
It is illegal to have any wild animal in your care for more than 24 hours. You can end up paying a fee. The Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) has responsibility for promoting and enforcing these rules. The SPCA ( society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) works with the MNR. It is illegal to keep wildlife without a permit even in Ontario.
Many wild animals carry parasites and diseases that can be transferred to you or your pet. It is dangerous as well. If you do not know how to help them, please call Wildlife Centre. Toronto Wildlife Centre is a registered charity dedicated to the rehabilitation of sick, injured and orphaned wildlife, and to educating the public on wildlife-related issues.
